How To Go To Boracay

Not everyone can afford to fly to Boracay, although taking the airplane is the fastest way to get there.
The flight from Manila to Caticlan is usually 45 minutes to an hour. Or Manila to Jaime Cardinal Sin International Airport in Kalibo, but one has to take the van to the Caticlan Jetty Port which is about an hour away. Then from Caticlan, there's a ferry to the island (the trip is less than 15 minutes).

If you are working on a tight budget, you can take the bus from Cubao going Caticlan (via Batangas and Mindoro). The fare is around 1,000 all-in. The trip is roughly 18 hours- but hey, you get to see the islands and islets along the way. It's not boring- in fact it's an adventure for backpackers.

Another way of going to Boracay is the 'cutting-trip.' This is highly recommended for singles, couples or travel buddies who want to experience an adrenaline rush while taking the trip. Here's how:

Take the 3:30am trip from Manila to Batangas.

When you reach Batangas, head straight to the ticket booth and take the fast craft to Calapan, Mindoro. It leaves at 6am. You'll be in Calapan before 7am.

From Calapan, take the van to Roxas, Mindoro immediately. The road trip is two hours.

When you reach Danggay Port in Roxas, Mindoro- take the boat to Caticlan- it leaves at 10am.

If you catch the 10am trip- then you can rest and have your late breakfast. The trip is 4 hours. By 2pm, you'll be at the Caticlan Jetty Port.
